Call for Papers – 16. GI / ITG KuVS Sensor Networks Symposium – FGSN 2017

Today, „digitalization“ is an ubiquitous buzzword. Constantly available communication led to an explosion of possibilities. In the Internet of Things devices of all kinds communicate measurement and control data directly or via Internet. Sensor networks are one branch within this development, representing an interface to monitor and control their environment. This kind of communication needs novel structures. Although applications are already prompting, not all research questions are solved. These challenges reflect the interface and the interaction between metrology and computer engineering. Development of dedicated solutions often competes with the use of open standards.

The following topics are called for in particular:

– Wireless sensor / actuator networks
– Mobile ad hoc and mesh networks
– Automotive applications
– Transportation, Fleet Management, Traffic Management
– Distributed Systems for the IoT, IoT protocols and standardization
– Sensor data acquisition and crowd sensing
– Home Automation and Distributed Energy System Applications
– Synchronization and error compensation
– Energy- and resource efficient sensor nodes

Contributions

The aim of this series of symposia is to provide researchers from academia and industry with an opportunity for informal exchange of ideas and to strengthen cooperation in this multidisciplinary research area.

The focus of the symposium lies on discussion over presentation. For that reason, contributions are expected as Extended Abstracts. They should cover 2-4 pages and be written as 10pt A4 in the double-column IEEE transaction format. The symposium is open for contributions that have been published at other peer-reviewed events. Accepted contributions are published as a technical report.

All contributions must be submitted as PDF via EasyChair:
